Recently, Carlos Solís, Senior Strategic Researcher at SAVITAT, participated in the Workshop "Transition towards a sustainable urban model adapted to climate change", a high-level space organized by Isthmus School of Architecture and Design and led by Dr. Graciela Arosemena.

From the Table 2: Viability Economic, our researcher provided his technical vision on the challenges faced by the real estate sector to transition towards more compact and resilient development models. During the analysis, the tension between the regeneration of existing neighborhoods and peripheral expansion was addressed, as well as the urgency of implementing financial mechanisms and fiscal incentives that promote this transformation.

The key takeaway of the day: The financial viability of sustainability is not an isolated factor, but depends directly on the gobernanza. More than a cost challenge, the change towards a sustainable city requires clear "rules of the game" on the part of the authorities. It is regulatory incentives and disincentives that will ultimately recalibrate the behavior of the real estate market in Panama.

En Savitat, we continue to lead strategic research to transform data into more humane and resilient cities.
